The segmented plywood column was installed by others.
You will notice that in the first picture there is a bucket of Hydroban. I was going to coat the whole column and then skim it round. However that was until I realized some areas would be an 1" deep to make "round". Thankfully I lucked out from a S.O.S. call and one of our suppliers actually had something that would work better and faster (Kerdi-V!) When I mean lucked out they had leftovers from a training seminar.
I tried looking for Wedi 'Construct' and Permabase Flex but it was special order only and a pallet minimum
So in true commercial schedule...formed, set and grouted in a day!
The missing row of tile is for a glass panel insert.

Jim,
I refrain from posting commercial pictures, because there are just sooo many pictures I could take. Hehe.

Brian and Kevin, looking good.
Sorry about the homeless guy crack, I didn't mean setting tile for $2/sf will make you homeless.
Most of these supposedly "homeless" guys begging on street medians are neither homeless or willing to work for anything. I've seen them getting into nice cars at the end of their shift
I was just thinking of easier ways of earning a buck. Maybe the public would take more pity on us if they realized how much overhead a tile contractor has. A homeless tile guy could live in his truck parked in front of the job site and the $2/sf becomes more significant. So when no job, out comes the sign

Man Jack you went from nothing to a ton of work. Glad to see it turned around. It's really picking up around here this summer.

Thank you. Really cool aspect of this tile is the crackle glass throws off color like diamonds. It doesn't show in these pics, but in the sun it's really neat looking. When the low voltage cabinet lights are on this splash is going to rock n roll with color and the depth that only glass can do.
