Marty,
It was a bit of a combination. Wound up drilling some pieces and pinning them to form the structure. There was some damage to where pins had been before. Thank god for epoxy. There was no way to do a 2x sub frame behind. Those girls had some weight to them. There are some stainless wires attached to the framing and to those girls. I wanted to cut marble pieces to form the interior but the architect and h/o wanted it done in plaster. They just metal framed it with wire lath and the plaster guy did a three coat job troweled out to a glass like finish.

I very much appreciate all the kind comments. To me, my stuff feels very ordinary compared to the many projects I've seen in here. Thanks again.

Didn't look ordinary to me, but even if it was we all learn from the "simple" jobs too.
In my opinion this thread is not about showing off. Do we all have ego's? Yes, if we didn't we wouldn't have been dumb enough to start our own business.
But I enjoy seeing other's work so I like to show what we are working on.
I find the pictures of actual in progress pictures the most helpful, but the pretty finished are nice too, the thread would be pretty boring if there were no pictures.
Nobody should feel obligated to post pictures of their work but the more that do the better.

I love seeing what everyone has going on. Gives me a good feel for the styles that are popular around the country.
What sucks is when people high jack this thread and start a new subject

Trust me, you don't have to be homeless to set tile for 2 bucks a foot.
