Finally got a few pics of my Job From Hellâ„¢. This the one where I used that Manyas White marble tile, which is the spawn of hell. The black square on the floor is strips of Black Galaxy granite that I cut. Also used that for the shelves in the two niches.
Still need to grout the floor and finish up some of the trim work. Black grout on the granite, white on the marble.

I forgot to mention that I also cut and profiled a 2cm slab of Bl. Galaxy for the window sill, which you can see one end of in one of the pics above. I also designed and built a cover for that God-awful heat register under the window. Here's a pic of it in my shop. Will post more when it's installed.

Thanks! Geez, I shoulda pulled out those damn spacers> Maybe I'll get lucky and Gueuze won't see 'em.
The heat register I mentioned can just barely be seen in the first pic on the right of the square.

Thanks! I can't tell you what a bitch it was to run that border through the 2 niches. I had tried to convince the customer to do it a bit higher, but she wanted it right through.
The cost of the mosaic was $32.00/ft. my cost. Used 30 ft. of it. The marble was $23.00/sq. Used 210 sq. ft. of that. The bullnose was pretty cheap at about $8.00 per piece.
I profiled and polished all the bullnosed tiles around the niches as well as the 2 corners into the tub surround.

Dan, I love the green tavy accents.
There needs to be more plumbing on the fixture wall as there are one or two tiles w/o a hole in them.
Glad you made the effort, the results look to be worth it.
EDIT- got a close up of the mosaic wrap thru the niche? Who made it? New Ravenna?

Not including the floor, I think there's a total of about a dozen whole tiles in the entire room. The wall where the window, heat register and dry niche are has 1 (yes 1!) uncut tile on it.
By the way, I've got an unopened bag of those Tavy accents. I'd be happy to bring 'em to the Laticrete PTK seminar in Oct. for ya.

Not sure what you mean.
EDIT: If you're talking about the mosaic itself, that is made by Onyx France, Inc. out of Henry Rothberg's home town of Woodbridge, CT. I wasn't able to buy it direct, though. Hadda go through TileAmerica, an approved distributor.

I mean a close up picture showing the mosaic strip bending thru the niche box. I'm guessing you had to cut the strip by hand or with a saw.
Who made them- manufacturer of mosaic, not the name of the store. New Ravenna is a company that makes very nice mosaic borders.

Got a whole box of the green tavy's, but thanks for the offer. See you in october.

Cool, local Connecticut product, not Chineese prison labor. Good for your economy, and low carbon footprint. New Ravenna is in Virginia.
