yeah those guys did a horrible job on those sheet mosaics. But then how accurate do you need to be above 50 or 100 feet?

Most incredible part to moi is that the poured concrete looks just fine the way it is up there.
I'd really like to see some of the form, place, and finish work on that thing. Truly and impressive piece of work all around.
Didn't see no Laticrete buckets or shirts up there, Henry. What's up with that?

Who are they going to get to grout that thing and how long do you think THAT will take? Did anyone see any expansion joints? I didn't.
I get queasy on stairs without handrails. No thanks.

I'm envisioning an air gun blasting the grout on and some huge mechanized float crawling up the building.

Can you imagine how wide the hard-hat area would have to be extended for a grouting process like that?

Yup, An Incredible Facade
The Al Hamra Tower Facade:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThtZ9jGy-H8
Laticrete 254 thinset and Laticrete 1500 series sanded grout mixed with 1776
Normal thinset technique for installing the mesh mount stone .... and normal "use a firm grout float" grouting procedure for grouting the rather large / wide joints between the stone pieces ...!
LOTS of grout being consumed .. and no, you can't just pick up what you drop when spreading the grout ... it is a long way down...!
Yes, seems that we missed a tremendous PR opportunity by not having Lots of Laticrete shirts & hardhats on this jobsite when they were filming ... and ..
Sure would have been helpful if they had mentioned what type / brand of thinset adhesive mortar they were using for the installation....!
