Panasonic has come a long way since my camera (DMC-FZ10). I've really enjoyed this camera. The newer ones have some nice features, but the FZ10 just keeps going and going. The DMC-FZ28S you have on your wish list looks like a sweet camera. I'm not sure how many models out that is from mine, but the basic look is quite similar. One big difference is in the zoom capability. I only have 12X optical and the 28 has 18X.

My hand is barely steady enough for 5x optical zoom. I'd have to get a tripod for that Panasonic.

Dan, Panasonic has a pretty good stabilization setting to help with that. A tripod is still the best bet for the upper levels.

Mark, that's a zoo? What's with the open fields inna background?
Yep, it's a very large drive through "zoo" called Arbuckle Wilderness. Animals are free to roam up to your vehicle.

We sat idle for about 30 mins at one spot because there was a herd, group, whatever of goats in the middle of the road. They don't give a hoot about car horns either.

Greg,

they are trying to find something dead in your area.
I have been seeing them a lot everywhere...maybe they are looking for the economy

Actually Brian,
They are turkey. It was comical to watch these big birds get up on those small crab apple tree branches. They were eating the crab apples.

I didn't notice any "beards" on them, so they may have been all hens. If you look closely, there are a couple of lighter colored birds, very unusual.

The photo quality is not very good, due to the fact that I have a cheap camera, and the shots were made through a glass sliding door.

ahh, i see the turkey resemblance now. quick look and they looked like turkey buzzards.

turkeys roost in trees at night, but i bet that was funny to see them get on the small branches.
