Is a 3/16 x 1/4 V notch trowel adequate?

I'm installing some marble mosaic sheet material, and the pieces are 2" diameter and 1/2 inch tall. I'm using Mapei LFT for the surrounding field tile (1/2 inch square notch) and will of course use the same LFT behind the mosaics. Trying to balance good coverage with not squishing a bunch through the mosaic. This is not a wet area.

Will this size trowel do?

Thanks!

I think a 1/4X1/4 square notch might be a better option, especially since they are 1/2" thick.

But if you want the finished height of the mosaic to match that of the field you'll have to build up the surface under the mosaic. A 1/2X1/2 square notch puts down a lot of mortar.
