Preferred method

Just seeing what everyone else does when it comes to grouting/caulking.
Is the preferred method to grout first , then do all of the caulking? Also do you protect the joints from grout where you plan on caulking, as in tile to cabinets/countertops/walls? or do you just caulk over any grout?

Thanks

You grout first and allow the grout to cure sufficiently before applying your flexible sealant. You must clear the joint of any mortar, grout, or other debris before applying the sealant.

My opinion; worth price charged.

Out of the two sealers that are readily available in my area is there a preference? The two are:

1)Aqua mix’s sealers choice gold
2)Tile lab grout and tile sealer (greyish/greenish bottle)

I've never cared for the Tile Lab, myself. I do like the Sealer's Choice but usually liked the solvent based. Then it was hard to find and I started using Miracle brand, usually the 511. Home Depot has it.

Davy,

The only 2 major ones available in my area are the ones I listed. That 511 isn’t carried at any of the big box stores here in Canada where I live.

The grout is mapei keracolor unsanded grout and the tiles are ceramic 3x12 subway tiles.
