Brian, nearly ill over seeing that. Vile. I'd have reported a biohazard to the Department of Homeland Security. Possible EPA superfund site.

No callback, they're still using it. You're supposed to get cleaner getting into a shower, not dirtier.

Yuck.

I did a charity job for some people a few months ago, and i couldn't believe what I walked into. A familly of 7 sharing one shower. But what amazed me was going into their house. It was incredible how gross that house was. I would never let somebody into my house if it was half the mess that place was, and then they offered my wife and I lunch. She cooked spaghetti and we declined and she came out and saw us eating tacobell in my truck
A friend/G.C. of mine knew these people from church and he bought the tile and supplies, and I did the work for free (well $300) but that was crazy.

They were broke, and couldn't clean, but they did have a big plasma hangin on their wall

Levi, I charge like a wounded bull if I have to work in a dirty house. Often, once they see the quote, they don't call back. Some places make you feel all itchy and uncomfortable just looking at them.

Some funny photos in this thread

problem was I didn't know it was a dirty house till I showed up to do the work. This was a favor for a friend. Actually he told me later they never even thanked him. They did thank me.

While we're venting, this is what I found this morning when I went to grout the bathroom I tiled yesterday. Seems the drywall guys had a party of my freshly tiled floor.

Rick, that's kiddie play to this mall job I did end of last year.

I'll see if I can find picture of it.
I save job folders on my computer and sent the GC the pictures so damages wouldn't be on my punch list which I never get.

Here is the complete story. The floor was tiled last Friday. This week, I have been working on the shower. Tuesday morning, when I arrived on the job, the floor was totally trashed by the drywall guys who were there real early in the morning.
I called the owner of the home to let him know and he told me it would be cleaned up by the time I got there on Wednesday (today). I do believe the owner cleaned it up last night but it seems the drywall guys were back again this morning and once again, didn't cover the floor or clean their mess. You should have seen how bad it was yesterday though.
I cleaned it up, grouted it and closed off the bathroom. I also let the owner know that from this point forward, he was responsible for anything that happens to the bathroom.

I didn't have a choice. When I started the floor, there wasn't even a door.

Funny how those people are poor and don't have time to clean but they have a plasma or big screen TV. That was the grossest shower I have ever seen.

Oh yeah, on the one that Brian put up of a job I went to look at....the guy never called me back either!
