I just found out about the JM GoBoard today. I have been using KerdiBoard on my last two shower installs. However, the price and loosing the labor and build-up of the banding has me intrigued.

Question
How are you handling the shower pan with the GoBoard? For example, are you using a liner, or are you using a membrane?

USG Foam Shower Tray

I'm using GoBoard on the walls and then I'll be dropping in a USG foam shower system tray and curb on the slab.

I plan on applying the USG membrane over the tray and where the tray transitions into the GoBoard.

Not sure what you are paying for the durock brand screws. I got some of these based on a something I saw that Dave gobis had posted. $34.09/5lbs

I've only used GoBoard with acrylic/cast iron tubs or shower pans. No tile pans, yet.
If I were to do a tile pan with it, I'd probably do a Kerdi/Goboard hybrid of sorts. Kerdi pan & drain, goboard walls.

Just noticed what Northmen had mentioned. USG pan/membrane, Goboard walls. Slick.

Good lookin out, thanks! Always good to have options. I'm not sure what this container weighs in at. They sell them listed by the qty, not weight.
This 350pcs jar I pay $18.30+ tax.

I will see if my rep knows what they weigh. I am looking at the install sheet. How does this not make a deviation from plane

Geniune GoBoard Fastners

Using genuine GoBoard screws cuts down on the number of screws needed.

Spacing is every 8 inches with Goboard screws VS every 6 inches with standard cement board screws. GoBoard screws have an over-sized head for better holding power

$38 for 5 pounds.
