anyone have the keys, please?
Evening!
Does anyone in here have the keys to let me clean up my old thread before I start adding to it again? It's " Minnesooota bath rebuild". I PM'ed CX today but he must be busy.
I look forward to being back in the forum after a long work season!
Thanks, Dyanne

Hi Dyanne,
At the bottom right corner of every one of your own posts there is an "edit" button that lets you change anything in that post of yours. You're allowed to change any post that is your own, but not other people's, even if they are in a thread you started. If there is anything major you need to do to the whole thread, let me know.

Thanks Tom,
My own posts in this thread now say "quote" instead of "edit". Yes, I am logged in. I figured it was due to the age of the thread. Also all the photos dissapeared out of the first 2 pages- not my doing.
Its doubtful anything can be done about the pitchers, but I do need my posts "unlocked" so I can edit them.
Dyanne

There is a time limit on editing of threads. We have it set to 2 days, figuring if somebody is reviewing their recent thread and spots a mistake they can correct it. After that it is in the archives and possibly indexed by the search engines so we don't want it to be changing out from under us.
Don't know what might have happend to the pichers though.

OK, thanks, Dave. Guess they will have to wade thru all the banter to get to the good stuff, eh?

That's one of the fun things about this forum.
Most of the time anyway.

Yep, I saw the PM, and then promptly forgot it. Sorry.
But all I was fixin' to say was, first, you need to give me a link so's I could find the thread, and second you'd need to tell me what you wanted to do with it.
After that I woulda tole you that editing old threads isn't something we do much of hereabouts unless there is a serious reason, like a legal problem or some such. Yeah, some of'em get derailed and filled with imper tenant chatter, but cestie is the ol' la Vivie, eh?
And I still don't know where it is on accounta you still haven't posted us a link.

To post links.....
You can do it the easy way of simply pasting the exact url (web address) of what you want to link to. Like if I wanted to show you a link to StoneTech's BulletProof Sealer, I could copy and paste the url here like this: http://www.tileyourworld.com/catalog...products_id=43
You simply put the url on your post and the software recognizes it as an URL and puts a line under it for a link.
You can also link a little neater by using the "Insert Hyperlink" function. You'll find this icon just above the typing box when posting. (Mouse over the icons to find the one labeled "Insert Hyperlink".) So to make a link that said, "BulletProof Sealer", I would click the "Insert Hyperlink" icon, then type in the words I want others to see into the first box that pops up. In this case, I'd type: "BulletProof Sealer", and click on "OK". Now a 2nd box pops up asking for the exact url, so you type (or paste) it in and click "OK" once more. Here is the result of following the above directions: BulletProof Sealer.

KG,
Guess I'm not so computer savvy; I just dont see a menu or a button to import a url. Not that I would even know how to copy the url.
Do you just go to the desired url and write down what is in the address bar? Then somehow paste it into the post?
I see the eyes rolling sorry!

Just click on the link in the address bar, right click copy and then paste it into your next post.

Dyanne, this is our lucky day! That was the first (and probably last) time I have successfully given computer instructions to anyone.

Jim,
And it was all in once sentence, too! Very nice.
Thanks to KG, too.
I have to try this again:
If there are any Felker experts here, would you be so kind as to help with my saw troubles here: http://johnbridge.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=19705
