Are there any US based luxury bus companies? Just curious. Guess I could google to find out... But, just throwing the question out there.

Reason: Because 'buses' only has one 's' - I did not know that. Batshit also only has one 's'.

Luxury Motor Coach buses cannot handle the weight of the equipment or bulletproofing the Secret Service installed in the bus.
Frank, if you're not going to bother reading the links which explain why the Secret Service ordered those particular buses then why do you bother replying to my post at all? Doesn't really matter what the manufactured crisis is - Obama did it.
Don't bother with the links, I wouldn't want to interrupt your routine. No comment about the expenditures of leasing buses over owning? Hell, if a republican did it everyone would be touting the 'fiscal responsibility' of said politician and how much money we're gonna save long-term without leasing buses at tens of thousands of dollars a month. Obama did it! That's all that matters.
Nor why, all of a sudden, a politician in a Canadian-made bus is an issue? And I'm absolutely positive there will be nothing but crickets when your GOP candidate begins campaigning on those exact buses. Nope, Obama did it! That's all that passes for political 'debate' anymore. Sad, really.
By the way, the buses were ordered from Hemphill Brothers Coach in Tennessee. Do you think someone walked up to the President with a handful of brochures and said "hey, what kind of bus would you like?" Really. Where was your outrage when President Bush did the same thing? Oh wait, it isn't an issue until Obama does something. I see.

Yep, mountain out of a molehill. Of course both sides do stuff like this and both sides bitch and moan about it. Lets not pretend that no one on the left ever said an unkind word about Bush. Heck, there was an industry around protesting everything Bush ever did. (a fair amount of it justified, and a lot that wasn't)
Not much different here. Complaining about politicians is good, long history of it in this country.

When George W. Bush took his own bus tour, he did so with campaign funds. Barack Obama is expecting you, me, and everyone else to fund his re-election campaign. At a time when 17% of the country is either unemployed or underemployed, it is appalling that the President would use our money to fund his re-election and that re-election message would be that we need to give him even more of our money.

well, at least when Bush did it unemployment was closer to to 5%.
*************
OOPS - looks like Laz beat me to it with the unemployment thing.
btw - the busses cost $1.1 million - each. That doesn't cover the cost of flying these things around in a C-130 cargo plane.
oh - and the correct title is " Debt Man Driving."

It's not a mountain out of a molehill Joe. It is yet another example of the tone deafness of our idiot in chief. If it was one incident it wouldn't be a big deal, but this guy pulls gaffes like this on an almost daily basis.
And no, I don't give a flying **** if the Secret Service ordered the buses. Does the prez have no say in the matter?

I'll stand by my comments. Yes it demonstrates a tin ear by the President and yes that should be pointed out and yes he should be mocked.
What I was trying to get at is both sides use every possible thing they can find to pin on their opponent. To complain about how "your guy" is being treated is silly.

You can tell it's Obama's bus because there is not a single pro-American emblem on it, no presidential seal, no american flag. It does look like a big hearse which is probably appropriate. That is his economic message.
My taxes have his smokes covered, Marlboro I think?

Ya know... I'm still trying to figure out how in the hell Roger can mouth off so much when all I did was do a search for "Luxury Motor Coaches" as Dan suggested and told Roger that Obama was still President... I tell ya, when the Left rails - they rail... Roger, I still believe that the United States of America, unlike how Obama feels, is still the Greatest Country in the World.... Hands down... I'm very proud of our lineage... I just don't want the Progressives and Socialists to ruin it... and yes.. there are Progressive Republicans... Can't think of any Socialists though that are Republican, just Democrats...

I'm absolutely positive you do Frank, as long as reality matches up with your view of what it should be. If not then the President is a socialist/marxist/or whatever 'ist' happens to be fashionable that particular day.
And exactly how would you know how the President feels? Just because his view of what is best for the Country doesn't match yours it doesn't mean he doesn't think it's the greatest country in the world. That's a bit out of touch with reality, in my opinion. I love this country, I KNOW it's the greatest - my views hardly match yours. I guess that makes me a (insert scary term here)ist?
I'm railing and mouthing off Frank??? Really? Perhaps you shouldn't be so sensitive. I've not even come close to beginning either of those things. Simply pointing out how ridiculous I feel it is that political 'discussions' now consist of 'he did this, he did that, he doesn't love the country, he's a (insert scary word here)ist. I think it's ridiculous and amusing. The fact that you get so worked up when I point it out actually makes it a bit more amusing to me.
You pointed out there was Luxury Motor Coaches of the U.S. I simply pointed out that had you read any of the links I included you would know why the Secret Service ordered those particular buses. So in my opinion you either are not interested in the facts of the current outrage or simply chose to ignore them when pointed out - which is it. Because you have yet to dispute anything I've stated about the 'outrage' in question.
I guess pointing out facts, linking to sites with more information and/or inquiring about related incidents and facts is what constitutes 'railing' and 'mouthing off'? So you were mouthing off when you stated Obama was the President a year ago? I get it - thanks.
Here, I'll save you a click. The Secret Service protects the President as well as presidential nominees and other high-ranking politicians. When the Secret Service began planning the 2012 elections they decided to take money from the budget which they are given yearly by Congress and purchase two armored buses. They were ordered from a company here, a Canadian company built the shells, and they were retrofitted by the Secret Service. Adding these vehicles to their fleet will actually save money over the long-term. Rather than spending tens of thousands of dollars a month to lease the buses and retrofit them, use them, strip them, etc.
These buses are a permanent part of the Secret Service's armored fleet, the one government entity which couldn't give two shits about the politics of any given situation - they simply do their job and do what needs to be done to be effective. It's really that simple. The Secret Service does not ask the President his opinion about how best to protect him. So no Greg, I don't think the President had a say in it.
How much interaction into this particular transaction do you honestly think the President had? Really? The facts of the whole thing coupled with the level of 'outrage' about the HEADLINE (Obama's buses made in Canada) is what amuses me. We have become a country dependent upon the headline without ever having to delve into anything deeper to find out what's actually happening. Reactionary.
We have two wars killing off our kids daily and everyone wants to bitch about a bus. Sad, very sad. If and when I do decide to 'rail', Frank, it won't be because the Secret Service ordered two buses. Until then I simply attempt to inject some facts into the latest 'outrages' and reactionary rhetoric - not that anyone's interested in that. Sorry if that offends you.
