Ditra Recall???

question more so for the licensed / pro guys. I usually do the tile work in my home, as well as for friends and such who needed the help for their homes... I have used ditra as my choice of underlayment and have always liked using it. We are having a bathroom renovated and are allowing them to handle the tile work on this one as I’ve got my hands full in two bedrooms. The contractor told my wife this morning that ditra was recalled a while ago and so they stopped using it apparently? I went online to try to find info or documentation regarding this and cannot seem to locate anything... was ditra in fact recalled or is this misinformation in being told? Thank you!

I certainly haven't heard anything, and I would think an internet search would show up if a recall had been made. Sounds like BS to me. Hopefully, John Bridge can reach out to Schluter and find out what the skinny is.
The name's Greg

Exactly my thoughts HS. I’ll take ditra every time personally if it is appropriate for the job.

A few years back there was a competitor product in the UK / Europe that had a production run fail and there were a lot of jobs affected - Not used by me I hasten to add. Never known Ditra to have a problem.

Did you have it in the beginning when it was made as straight line rows? [I.E not the squares]

I think it's BS, but anyone can call Schluter. Their help line is always open.
