LT, looks good. What is the blue wp membrane on the walls? Also, did the HO specify that layout?

never heard of it. we used to use the 9235, now its strictly hydroban with the occasional gaco flex shower/lanai.

Youll hear of it real soon, its a newer product.Hydobarrier is similar to Hydroban, exept its more economical. It just requires fab in corners where hydroban doesnt. It works great on the wall and makes your setting area easier to see.

It is a less expensive version of hydroban but requires fabric in changes of plane. Priced to compete with Redgaurd. I havent used it yet, Hawaiian Ceramic doesn't stock it but could probably order it.

The game was on ABC. They won so they play Japan for the final tomorrow. I think 3 eastern time.

fabric thats the beauty of hydroban. Id sample it if Hawaiian ever brings it in.

Issac, does anyone use Kerdi or Ditra here? Ive seen the Ditra at HD but never came across Kerdi. Kerdi seems like it be a pain in the a** to get up flat (no bubbles). seems to be popular on this forum though.

Drew,

Other that HD having the small rolls of Ditra nobody stocks it on Maui that I am aware of. But a lot of people on Oahu do and will ship it if you want some. Dal-Tile, Sunset, and Central Tile Mart. Ceramic Tile Plus here has the kerdi board tub deck on display but haven't decided to stock it yet.

In fact the Schluter rep stopped my my 'massive' 100 sqft shower project yesterday in Honokowai. He was there with Bob the owner of Sunset Tile from Oahu checking out some some slip/trip stuff at the Marriott. (But I was installing a Hydroban shower, oops)

I think the Kerdi is a great system, I just prefer installing Hydroban. And it is stocked on Maui.

And to get the thread back on subject this is the little shower I am working on. Porcelain walls, made my own travertine shelf.

This is the job that the plumber's guy hit a bunch of electrical, telephone, and cable lines when trying to fix a corroded cast iron drain line below the slab.

Finally putting the shower back.

Drew - you work by yourself or for someone else?

And by the way Hawaii beat the favored Texas team 10-0!

Like they say, "Don't mess with the Aloha State"

Just wish the Sugar Bowl against Georgia worked out the same way a few years back.

Isaac, I been working for a guy for the past 4 yrs. Its nice, piece pay, he drops the material off the majority of the time, takes care of trash, has a helper drop off a Felker, gives me the rundown on the project and lets me loose. I pay for my own helpers and depending on the job either pay for materials or there included 50/50.

Your work is wonderful. You're the only one i've seen on here that hides your grout joints in your niches. Did you learn that on Maui or have you always don e them that way?

I've never really been big on taking pics of my work. I guess Ill have to start to get this thread back on track. started a small kitchen floor 12" porcelain (who buys 12's anymore?) and a shower (material tbd).

I thought it was "Don't mess with Texas", but I'm a New Yorker, lol.

Too lazy/tired to get pics out of my camera, but nothing special going on right now.

Typical last minute "get it done before school opens" job. One week to complete! About 3000sf of 100% glass/cement terrazzo tile and 100% glass/epoxy terrazzo tiles. Remove 1/2" of concrete cap to allow tiles to sit flush with existing rooms (NOTICE AGGREGATE SIZE IN HYDROBAN PHOTO), apply Hydroban, tile, logo cuts and epoxy grout.

Looks great, Kevin. I remember working schools in August, crazy times.

I do have to ask how this one was set- looks guaranteed to break, even with the hydroban.
