Thanks, Steve. This bathroom has been a math project and a half.
Last week I was doing arches....in double chair rail.
On the outside-
And the inside....

In the first pic the top of the arch looks to be one piece. It took a much closer examination to see how well you made those cuts and put it together.
Excellent work !

It's not about bacon- but pork. I'm doing the job under a NEA grant, lol.
Thanks Paul- it is not perfect to the touch though, you know how a 64th or less can feel like a mountain to the fingertip. I may hit it with the fein tool and some 220, 400, 600 grit. Also a bit of nessicity as thje pencils didn't have too much surface area letf to bond and allow the side and top pieces. to go in.
Also- your k-board shower- nice. Good there is no door- how would you screw to the foam?

Schluter-KERDI-BOARD-ZFP is a flat plastic profile, which is adhered behind the Schluter-KERDI-BOARD-ZA U-shaped profile to improve fastening of hardware with screws.
Thats how.

These walls are only a foot deep. There will be no door

Paul, I agree nice K-board project. For your sityation it was perfect. So no kerdi fix to glue it to the drywall. You say about how strong those walls are, the issue with not being able to put in a glass door. If the adhesive is so strong, couldn't you attach 2X2's to the edge of the K-board, then you would have the wood to attach the door to? Just a thought if it is that strong. They are just gonna have an open shower, no door, who sayz ya gotta have a door

very cool
Jim that interior detail on the top corner is phenomenal.
I absolutely love the way it mimics a vaulted arch -- to do that with
plain 'ol chair rail is very difficult -- next to impossible --
I know I'm gushing , but seriously, achieving that without pre-cast
or architecturally engineered pieces is truly something.
makes me feel like I'm here -- top-shelf homeslice

Gueuze- That is beautiful work. Love the way the two arches hit each other on the inside and outside corners. You are being very modest putting that in this thread. I think it deserves an upgrade to craziest work thread.
Has it been a math project and and half or a month and half project?
Do the clients appreciate that they have a modern day Michelangelo tiling their bathroom? And I'm not being sarcastic.
Now that you are almost finished did you charge enough?
Sorry about all the questions. I'm trying out to fill Larry King's time slot.
One more for Brian- How was the slab on that job. Did you have to do any prep or flat enough for a thinset install?
