Vaccine Antibody Response
Some recent research indicates that 90-minutes of exercise immediately after getting a vaccine boosts your overall immune response at 4-weeks versus maintaining your normal, likely more sedentary routine. The theory is that that exercise causes that initial shot to be distributed more widely and quickly throughout your body via the blood and lymph streams, probably getting more areas get exposed to that initial dose of the antigen.
The goal is to get your heart beat up, ideally to 120bpm, but anything above norm is a benefit. The test also tried doing that for 45-minutes, but while it helped, it was a significantly lower benefit than the 90-minutes that was the second timeframe they tested. More testing may determine that say 60-minutes may be the sweet spot...maybe they'll know by the time the next big flu or other vaccination push starts later.
Anyway, doesn't hurt to try if you can. The side effects don't usually kick in until the next day, so you can rest then, if you want.
