I can see the mountain

Very nice weather here in the Northwest the past few days. Lows in the upper 30's High up to upper 40's lower 50's. There is yet to be a morning with ice on the van window's.
Days are getting longer and that is nice also.
I would guess that about the time the folks in Buffalo get all shoveled out the wind will start blowing and fill all the walks and drives back up again.
We are off to the southwestern Washington coast to spend New Years at Long Beach. Full moon, big beach fire etc will be fun.
Happy New Year

Jerry

They moved Long Beach up to Washington? Last time I was there I could have sworn I was in the L.A. area.

Well, it's going to get cold here tonight, and I know why. Check out this article from today's Houston Chronicle. It will back up what I've been saying for a long time now.

ROTFLMAO!

Not hearing too many predictions about global warming this week, eh?

Just think of the outdoors as one big beer cooler and it helps with the pain...

We don't need any of your humidity...when you live on the Great Lakes, you get plenty...just ask Buffalo.

Can you believe it? They're predicting 20 f. tonight. I've got my hose bibs wrapped, my plants covered, and an extra twelve-pack of Miller's in the fridge. Have already decided it's too cold to go to work tomorrow, so I may do a number on the twelve-pack.

Man, I don't know how all of you folks do it. Makes me shiver just thinking about it.

On a more pleasant note, we're supposed to be climbing back toward 60 on Friday. [Patti, where'd you put that Sea 'n Ski lotion?]

High teens in The Hill Country is tonight's forecast, John. And some of us will go to work anyway. Inside. With our big heater. And our 100 Lb. bottle of propane that we had the very good sense to have refilled today.

Too cold to go to work. Que wimp! Won't even be cold enough to wear long pants, I bet.

And did y'all note above that ol' Z is tryin' to pretend he's not a Yankee again? Some "southern humidity", says he. Where the hell you reckon he'll get that? Axe us to send him some from down here in the south? Geeeeez.

BULLETIN: On new year's day I had enough snow at my casa to make one small snow ball. Woulda taken a little gathering mind you, but I coulda made one. Whada ya suppose them Buffaloites would say to that?!

Hey John?????

You ready now for that cheese?

The high here today was 17, 5 below last night and again tonight. Last week I hung CBU in a house where the temperature inside was 25 degrees.

You'd freeze more than your fern if you were here!

Damn, Bud, they don't sell propane and big burners there in ---- whatever y'all call that god-forsaken, cold, flat place you live?

I can just see you helping your lady with her summer wardrobe: "No dear, I like the blue snowmobile suit better for the beach".

Ah, well. Everybody gotta live someplace.

[Cami, find me a smilie of a frozen person. Not a snowman or a penguin, neither]

Cx, gettin' a little precise in your requests, huh?

How about the one at the beginning of the thread?

Used this one somewhere, too...

And, yes, those snowmobile suits are very flattering on the beach- they cover up our pasty-looking skin.

We don't have any snow on the snowmobile trails to speak of. No snow until the Sunday before Christmas, and less than a foot accumulation here. Strange, but great.

Update on Canadian Plot

Well, I think this says it all.

Looks like someone at the Chronicle doesn't know how to spell "include." J.B.
