To answer your question Jerry, everyone I've talked to says the Columbus day storm wasn't nearly as bad. That monster only lasted 4 or 5 hours. This one started Sunday at about 11:00 am, with gusts to 90. Thats pretty normal for us. It lasted till about 4:00 or 5:00, then there was a lull, and the heavy $#@% lasted all night and the next day until the afternoon. I'd say at one point it blew over 100 at my house for several hours with 130 mph gusts. The power company called for reinforcements, and they had their hands full. There were guys from Idaho, Montana, Utah, Southern Oregon, and all over the West here to help restore power. When the guys finally had a chance to hook us back up on Saturday, I came out and stoked them out with some elk pepperoni. Our powerhead was ripped from our house by two big cedars.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas."
We're getting some snow. Right now it looks so pretty outside. I feel like a little kid.

Something nice about a snowy icy winter's day when all you have to do is look out the window at it. Especially when it will be all melted tomorrow. Meanwhile throw another log on the fire and mix up another batch of Hot Toddies.

I left the 4 wheel drive at home today and took the wife's little Honda out in this icy mess. It's more fun when you can pull the emergency brake and do a few 360's in an empty parking lot...

I have a little Hyundai, and boy it can do a few 360's too. I've been told I'm getting too old to do that stuff, but I don't pay attention to them. They threaten to hide my keys, but they don't know how many sets I have hidden around town. HeHeHeHe Anyway, old age is a state of mind.
Gotta go out and play before it changes to rain.

Now I remember another reason for moving to SC. Still 62 right now. We did have a few sprinkles this afternoon. Actually had to turn the wipers on a couple of times.

Thanks for the picture Sal.

I have a new reason to hate snow. My sweetie has been in Boston (freezing) all week. He spent several hours at Logan - in the terminal and on the tarmac - before JetBlue canceled his flight. At least, I THINK it's canceled. Their stupid website first said he took off about 4 hours late (must've been when they taxied away from the gate). Then he called to say he might get out of there around 10pm and they'd get routed to Oakland. San Jose doesn't allow flights to land after 11:30pm or so. Then they'll bus him down - about an hour or 1.5 hour drive. But now the JetBlue website says the flight was canceled.

The poor guy caught a cold a day or two ago too!
