going like the blob, so slow.
Man I never thought things would move so slow, what with irregular sized diamonds. THe first company to attempt making these tiles for us had all the 12 x 24's cut in half for 6 x 24. You can clearly see that their blade was wandering all over as the cut was made. More over their angle could not provide the exact 120 degree angle required to make nice Hex's. The company had split all the 12 x 24's 720 pc's, then they cut the diamonds from one color. We inspected the lot and at this point rejected the order. I had hand cut about 24 diamonds to show why the angle was so important. The companies states that the angle could not be obtained due to the varing tile width. I showed the shop guy that the width would only change the size of the hex, as if laying multi-gauged tiles and that the angle was the more important factor. Two weeks after we pulled the product and started cutting our own on site we received a call from the shop foreman that he had now understood why it was so important to havethe angle right. Guess he must have layed all those rejected diamonds out and found out the hard way.
ANy way here is where we are now.

Neil, what is that project? Slow, well if you are having to make the cuts but as someone said earlier couldn't you set up a jig or have you already?

Neil, awesome visual! I can only imagine the # of hours that will go into this project. Hopefully it's T&M. I would be using the best membrane, thinset and grout available to help me sleep at night. Again very cool look. good luck

My weekday project, counter top with large Villeroy & Boch rail. Used Schluter Schiene to support from the bottom.
Saturday patch, flamed granite in the lobby of a building in downtown Nashville. We have used this method a few times to sturdy up pieces due to concrete slab movement. Cut out grout joints, find any holes that lead to the mortar bed, pour in self leveling, and grout with urethane.

Rick and Brian nice job on your projects, Brad where is the pic of the patched on that flamed granite I like the look of it. Good idea with the Schluter for support.
Started a shower reno today in Harrisburg, PA. Removed the fiberglass tub surround and drywall above. Reason is the wallpaper, going to the ceiling with the tile. Another trailer full and mess is done.
