Brian,he has the cuts cut correctly, and incorrectly,if you wanna examine it etc lol. The curb is running bond, which corresponds with the walls.
He coulda started with full miters at the apex, and then followed the running bond pattern, achieving a "kite" look to the miters.
My guess,it won't be seen after the door enclosure is installed.

Upon second look,he's 100 percent correct in layout. The running bond repeats on the face of curb, and top of curb.

This is the area I am referring to. The part in the circle just doesn't look right to me. If that's the way it has to be then so be it.
What Frank said. Nice looking work, Rich.

Brian,
If you look closely the joints are all offset (brick joint) that is why that part isnt symetrical it is following the off-set joint pattern which is carried throughout the walls to the dam. It's just a matter of preferance in installation really, some will center the dam to make it all symetrical I chose to keep the pattern....
And BTW thanks Rich for noticing the method to my madness..

Very nice Dean,
I see what you are saying though Brian, I don't like my grout joints not lining up at an apex, so I woulda probably mirrored a full and half tile there and let it be what it is at the sides.
To each his own.

Welcome to the lions den Dean. Glad to have you. Sorry if I missed any introduction. I actually agree with Brian. I would have carried the running bond or subway or brick pattern....what ever it needs to be called. But I would have made a focal point like the center of the curb symmetrical. Not trying to be critical of your work, but more honest of what I would have done...then again I am an OCD tile setter. I also would have carried the offset up the left side of the jamb. Other that that it all looks good. On a side note... this is something the staff cares about, and applies to everyone. If you are going to stick around here and make tons of posts please use the upload pic option when you post instead of the link option. This site has over a million posts and nearly the same amount of pictures. A lot of lurkers use this site like a library. When you no longer have a need to host those pics at photo bucket or where ever you host them and they become removed, they are also removed from this site. Then we have posts with no photo, and thats no fun.

Over all very nice, I agree with you Jack about the bond going up the jambs of the shower. I know it's a lot more work, finished product would go from solid, sound good work to excellent IMO. Keep it up looks good, BTW the bench and corner mosaic look really well done, nice touch.

This is a job that I posted before that we just finished. The job is here in Temecula up into the Hills in a place called De Luz. 12x12 Crema Marfil with some Porcelanosa murals framed with glass 2x12 and dome liner. Also on the right is a picture framed of the same dome , glass and with an ogee added to the mix.
