Yes Jon, I make all my stone accessories. I collect scraps from counter top places. The real tricky part is the outside trim. The pencils are one piece "L" profile and 20 inches long. You have to treat them like a newborn till they're in place.

The star design in the shower pan was my creation. It was the house of a contractor who sends a lot of work our way, so I wanted to give them a treat.

Current remodel I'm working on, 1930's home. Outside walls were the typical rough cut 2xs so we built new walls in front of existing to square and plumb everything up, also lowered ceilings to 8' with new rafters. Bathroom floor was way out of level, and with a 2nd story above didn't want to try and raise it,so today I mudded the bath floor and wetset the Ditra.

Brian that's the first one I've wetset with Ditra and it really saved a lot of time. Plus it should end up a little stronger being damp cured. I'll probably do this more often now when needed.

Derrick , just extra insurance and this way I can waterproof the entire bath floor. I also have to protect the mud from a little foot traffic, since the finishers are still there.

I like it Josh. That is one thing you can't do with a liquid membrane- wetset it.

Josh, explain your "wet setting " of Ditra. or

Brian, your "wet setting" of Kerdi?

After you pull the mud and clean up the mud tools, mix your thinset and install the Ditra/Kerdi while the mud is still wet.

Oh the days of wet setting quarry tile.
