curbless shower/open bathroom

I'm adding a new bathroom on the second floor, Size is 6'x6'.

Wall mounted toilet and sink.

I'm planning on having a open shower all within the bathroom.

The floor is two sheets of 3/4" ply total 11/2 inches. I have sloped the floor to the drain by planing the top sheet of plywood on the underside before gluing and screwing it to the first sheet.

I'm planning on using the schluter system drain and schluter kerti membrane system to seal the floor and up the cement board walls (i'm planning on going up the cement board walls about 6").

My current concern is the plywood floor. It is solid and properly slopped.
Can I install the schluter membrane over the wood floor? Do i need a mud floor?

Welcome to the forum, GPP. How about giving us a name to call you?

In your situation, It might be best to use Ditra on the floor, which can be applied to plywood with thinset. There is a way to tie the Ditra into a Kerdi drain using Kerdi. The Ditra will be waterproof after you use Kerdi band on the seams.

I'm not familiar with your floor sloping technique. I wonder if some of the pros here have an opinion about it.

can you post some pics of this floor and show us a level from point to point over the drain?my only concern would be if there is a level line around all for points in the shower area and then the pitch to the drain coming off of those points otherwise water could roll back to a low point and sit at the wall

Welcome, GPP. I, too, would like to know what to call you.

That'll be my first concern, too. To achieve the necessary 1/4-inch per foot of slope to the center of a room that size, you would need to have removed all of the top sheet of 3/4 ply and some of the bottom sheet at the drain. I'm thinking you didn't really do that, right?

I'm concerned also about this:

A fella really needs to waterproof his walls in the shower to a level above the shower head at least.

My opinion; worth price charged.
