Sherry, Callie has a really hard life.

Frank, yes, you should get a pool!

Brian and Musky.....I so remember how we all lost our three furballs over about a year's time. Boy that was tough. You two have some great new family members now.

We made a little memorial over Cody's grave. If you look closely you can see his name in one of the perimeter stones. The stone with his name is actually some leftover grout that the better half formed up and wrote on. It was made years ago. The grey rock on his left is in the shape of a heart. He had a big one.

The memorial is in the "forested" part of our 2 acres where he loved to go explore and "try" to catch squirrels. (If he could have even come close to getting near one we would have not allowed it).

I am in sympathy with others in this thread who have lost their pets.

Richard,
Thanks for sharing, and allowing the tears to flow from my eyes as well, as I remember the fond time with my Herr Boomer, and foster boxers, Kayla May, Enzo Ferrari, and Miss Ruby.

Well, we're gonna keep him for awhile.
Observations from the first day.
He's a big big baby.
He will tear to shreds any,and i mean any toy in seconds.
He has no aggression unless you try to enter the house or yard....Jehovas Witnesses, fair warning.
We already dug one cat claw out of his huge nose.
When we were rough housing on the floor my rat terrier thought he was hurting me and got real mad, i thought she was gonna jump on him...funny.

Also, a rat terrier that thought she was tough, with him at her back thinks she's God.

Besides feeding them and loving them, we take them for a walk during a tropical storm getting soaking wet.

cool looking pit. i know what you mean about having your rat terrier thinking its god when the pits around. i had a doberman and a minpin they would stand togather all the time and the little one would cause all kinds of trouble cause he knew his 100# buddy was right behind him to back him up.lol

My best friend! This is the Border Collie I rescued when she was 14 weeks old, and was in the third shelter she had already been in. She's now 3.5 years old, and one of the smartest dogs I've ever encountered. Although she is MY best friend, I'm pretty sure that HERS is her frisbee!

Yeah my neighbor has a herder dog and it is really smart.
My Ratty is really smart also.Even this pit is pretty smart. And obeys verrryyy well, which is great since i can't threaten him.

To be honest we had an incident the first day he was here over a bone.He was in his bed with the bone and thought somebody was gonna take it.
He was growling and i scolded him.He didn't like it and kinda jumped up and came at me.I was sitting on the couch, and jerked back. One of my sons yelled at him and the other actually drew his gun, glad it didn't go any further.Scared me when i though he was gonna get me.
We yelled at him and he actually felt so bad he brought me the bone and walked around in a circle. We really love him now and everything is cool, he's very gentle and has accepted us as boss now.He loves the pool and yard,he didn't have one before.
He is also great with other dogs, prolly cause he knows he could eat em if he wanted.
