Kerdi Line Drain Remodel Questions

Great question. I plan on placing the door right in front of the drain with a fixed panel / door combination. The fixed panel will be siliconed to the tile floor. The only place water can move past is where the drain is beneath the door itself. The slope on the pan is pretty minimal, so with a vinyl sweep it should be pretty good. Even without that, the floor will be water proofed as well for any escaped water.

Thanks on the trailer! I work closely with a killer cabinet shop, the owner and I dreamed that bad mother up, 40 sheets of 3/4" plywood and a lot of CNC router time later, we came up with that! Cheap, all plywood no drawer runners or anything.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to terminate the deck mud at a doorway with carpet on the other side? I'm floating this floor an inch higher, and the deck mud is going to terminate at a doorway -- I was thinking of putting a temporary dam in until it sets up?

Put a temp board down as a screed, or just let it run long & cut it after it sets up a little.

Hey Nick really nice barrier free shower install. I have used a few kerdi line drains and really like them. I have not put one yet at the glass door location just up against the wall. Is your floor outside the shower sloped towards the drain too? I didn't go through the whole thread.

Reason being is we had a linear drain design session at TSP and they talked about having it there and water going out beyond the drain since it can only drain so fast. Some is gonna get beyond it. If the bathroom floor is sloped toward the line drain or there is a separate drain outside the shower no problem. Just curious how you did yours.

Hey, I did back slope the outside of the shower. The bottom fixed panel is also siliconed so there's no real chance of water intrusion on that half either. I also water proofed the floor just in case. The shower controller is Kohler's DTV. I love them and install that product over a thermostatic and trim because it's cheaper and works very well. Two shower outputs too, no need for a diverter.
