bond new mortar to old

I am looking to bond new mortar to old. I was considering just using some latex modified thinset but would rather use something that I can apply easier like a paint etc. but don't want to lower bond strength any than my original plan. Could you guys direct me to a product or products that will work. Thanks

You could mix modified thinset kinda soupy that can be painted on. Just make sure the thinset is wet when you put down the cement.

There are some liquid bonders out there. I can't name any brands since I just use thinset instead.

Thanks Davy,

Yup, I have seen those liquid bonders as well but I couldn't imagine them working better than the thinset as far as bond goes. Would be easier to apply them though. THanks
