stone fireplace

Does anyone out there have info on installing "Cultured Stone". I am building a fireplace with hearth ect.. and using that manufactured stone. Do you use cbu or the old wire lath and scratch coat?? Thanks, Pete

Hello Pete. Welcome aboard.

I've seen it done over metal lath, and I've seen it done over concrete, too. If you can install the lath easily, that's what I would do. They usually give it a thin scratch coat and then install the "stone" with additional mortar.
