Recessed Lighting in a steam room???

I am currently in the process of remodeling our bathroom and I am converting the shower to a steam/shower room. I have read a lot of different forums and I feel like I have searched up and down trying to understand recessed lighting in a steam room. Even the steam manufacturer offer lighting as a solution, I just haven’t found a straight answer on how to properly install lighting in to the steam room and keep the vapor barrier. Does anyone have any experience in lighting for a steam room? On the same note of recessing lighting what are your thoughts or experience on a recessed speaker in there as well?

Cory,

Welcome to the forum.

Of the steam room manufacturer lights I've seen there is some wimpy gasket.

We solve the problem by using sealed LED lamps then silicone around the edge to the tile. These are a favorite.

Check out NSL (National Specialty Lighting) LED Thin Surface/Recessed lighting. Have been using them for awhile and they come in many sizes square or round.

With the NSL thin line led lighting I assume you just silicone seal them to create a vapor barrier? Have you used these with success in steam shower installations?
