New Ditra competitor?

I was at my local supply store and started talking to the owner about Ditra. He took me in the back and showed me a new blue roll of product that looks like Ditra, but was blue, has a mesh on top instead of waffle pits like Ditra and he said modified thinset can be used over and under for much easier installation... I do not recall what he said it was called. Has anyone seen this? How does it compare to Ditra? It must not be moisture proof like Ditra.

Not at all new, Jeff. It's made by Blanke. Do a search for Blue Ditra and you'll likely find some old references hereabouts.

yeah thats the Blanke - Permat .

I used it a few times since they are close to me in Georgia.
didnt mind using it but I was more comfortable using the Schluter - Ditra.
to me I felt better about the griding and the name Schluter.
