Atlanta, GA, Need Info!
Looks like I will be flying into Atlanta towards the end of Feb and will be staying somewhere between Atlanta and Decatur. Is it better to stay in Atlanta or more towards Decatur? Or does it really matter? Weather around that time of year? Good places to stay or places to avoid? Might not have much time to sight see or hang out but what are some of the must see/do things in the area if I get some time. Also, great restaurants, good places to get a beer etc... Not really interested in night clubs however. Any other info is also appreciated.

Let's start with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and go from there. If I ever have to fly into that airport again, it will be too soon.
Two years ago, flew into Atlanta from Charleston, SC. Ended up going to each of the remaining terminals before making my way back to the first thanks to broken equipment (jetways and planes). Was subjected to many rude Delta and airport employees along the way, and never was offered an apology for the five hour delay.
Cheers.

Shooter;
If an ATL local doesn't respond, PM me and I can help. I've been to ATL literally at least 100 times or more and could probably shed some light.

The Gen. Sherman Memorial is a must see, especially at night when the fires are lit.

Don't feel to bad if it takes awhile to understand what the folks are talking about. First time I was there (Army 68) It took a couple weeks to understand most of the good folks down there.
Good Luck

What language do they speak over there? Aren't they still a part of the US? Do I need to update my shots? Damn, sounds like I am doing a tour in some hostile, third world country. Good thing a bunch of my tools are going with me.

Goodness people, if I have offended or made anyone from GA, particularily the Atlanta / Decatur area uncomfortable please forgive my poor attempt at humor. This is getting silly.
And Kate, this is not directed at you. You know how I feel about you.

Shooter,
I didn't take offense at any comments. I don't think we've got too many members from the Atlanta/Decatur metro area.
Cheers.
