Yes I already knew about the uppity part, friend has a home up in the 1.8 million range and the traffic seems to be that way almost everywhere in this day and age. Sorry to hear you didn't have good meals, uppity place like that oughta have good food, uppity in quality...lol

Kerdiboard steamer. The drain adapter has a lot of slop in it, hope it lays flat. Wedi curb to be added later. Love the big panels, but don't like how soft and easy to pierce they are.

First divot! I made a template, couldn't find the right sized baking pan.

Matt,

Wont that heat wire melt that flimsy foam?

Matt - looks good

JohnK - According to Schluter the board can withstand indirect heat up to 154 or 158 degrees if I remember correctly. I don't think the heat mat will get above 85 or so. Matt - did you ask anyone at Schluter about using both together? I'd be curious to know also.

I just asked about using it around a fireplace surround and was given the 154 indirect heat answer. Don't think I will be chancing it.

I did call schluter to ask about heat under regular membrane, but didn't ask about the board. According to tech, the floorheat is fine under regular kerdi, can even be directly under.

I think the steam head will get hotter than the wire will.

Looks awesome Matt. Will you be putting a more mud on the seat? I would like to see that progress too.

Ok thanks John.

Matt,

So what do you think about the Kerdi board? Especially since your versed in Wedi. How do they compare?

here's a thin stacked stone veneer we just did in New Port Richey, Florida.

customer turned his den work area into a "man cave". we went up 48" as a wainscot and then installed the watertable ledge sill at the top.

he's making a bar with a granite counter, small halogens to accent the window wall, flat screen in the corner area and pool access outside the 2 double doors. he might stain or color texture the floor.
tampa sarasota clearwater st petersburg largo brandon bradenton sun city seminole
this was a Pacific Ledge Stone and could be set pointed or stacked.
he wanted to rougher stacked look.
