Brian it works dude. What are you doing to my drawing ?The front of the tiles would still line up the back piece on the right wall would cut across the angle.
What are you tiling to plywood with Micheal ?

Chad, then you would have some "hack" angle line that ends nowhere into the back wall.
make it work for me

Brian,it will work,regardless of the angle etc. It can be a 22.5 a 37.287965 etc etc .
It's the width that's a consideration, when mirroring. If both widths are say 24"s It will look uniform. If widths are different, you can still do equal/mirror cuts.....but you'll have a continuation of the intersection,at the front or back end of it.
It's fairly simple to bisect any intersection.....and after that's established.....you then look at moving the layout around.....for the best look at 3 different junctions.
Happy T-Day all!!

Michael,
Yes I am curious too on the plywood thinset, nice layout and tile!
Yes I do unnerstand what you are saying now but as you noted, the way the 45's out. Actually it is about 60 as that inside angle wasn't 135 as I originally though, more like 120. I used the 135 degree inside piece for that inside angle but had to cut off the one leg.
Yes Levi, the bar countertop is 24 1/2" deep, the peninsula bar is 22", I made it wider as she wanted it, was 19". I think Rich mentioned about a lot of cuts, not really. On the bar, 5 full pieces(each cut to 11"), so not really full but full till they hit the transition east to west.
On the countertop with cabs those pieces are 13" full piece in front, 11 1/2" back piece, just looked better with full piece in front. Layed them out so I didn't have a smalla slitha of a piece in that outter corner. I am sure there may have been other ways to do this but with the way it is done, that transition area flows nicely, kinda like the drinks are gonna flow today as we celebrate Thanksgiving
Mark, I used a table saw to cut the k-board where needed. The cutout for the sink a drywall holesaw, took about 30 seconds, did it after it was installed. Chop saw to cut the profiles, as stated a grinder would never be accurate enough to cut these CT Profiles, they have to be exact 90's. My DeWalt chop saw I can cut these Profiles on angles other than 90 degrees. For anyone trying to use a hack saw to cut the CT profiles, brotha you're in for a long day!
Mick, I am going to try and get more countertop work, but looking more towards commercial side like gyms, restaurants, places where granite is not the ideal surface. High maintenance. Porcellanto is low maintenance, high durability ideal for restuarant countertop. Small joints and big tiles. I haven't looked at the tiles you speak of but they already have a bunch out that are ideal for this use. I will check them out though, you workin at your lawyer's place today or having turkey with them....
Brian, Rich, and Chad I will take a pic tomorrow of that area closeup and you can present your cases in tile court, CX will be the judge.... "Here comes the judge."

Brian I'm not saying its corner to corner. I'm saying that you can mirror the cuts with any angle.

Chad your drawing looks good to me, looks like it woulda been an option. I do like the way I did it though, looks a lot smoother than your drawing though I get your point and will keep it in my thoughts for future jobs. Will Esquire Brain step up and present his case please...lol
The court will now rest and enjoy the holiday, let the drinks flow if they aren't already!

Just cause you wouldn't do it doesn't mean it doesn't work. Is it the best layout for what Jon did I don't know. But it does give an option and like you said if you don't like it then don't install it.
We will see Jon's pic and then know how he tackled it tommorow Shchlepy

This court will meet back here tomorrow in the evening, EST to view the evidence since you can't be onsite. Pics will be presented and if it is decided there was a better way, neither one a you will be so entitled to call the customer until I get my final payment

This is the only pic I have on my pic site that somewhat shows various mirrored miters. It's hard to see too.
I'll have to look at my pics on disc, cuz I know I have several examples of a situation just like Jons. They show miters other than the typical 12/360 norm.
I personally like mirrors/flowing joints,whenever possible.

Rich, yes I agree with the word you used.... flow. I think with the way I did it, flow would be the right term. I think in this instance I like the way I did it, that joint going across there I think would have been an eyesore. But again you gentlemen can take a look at the pic and see what you think.

The thin-set used was kerabond-keralastic.I'm doing this job for another tile contractor who sets up the jobs before I show up.Normally I don't tile over plywood.
This house was a total remodel.New roof, walls down to the studs, new plumbing, wiring and all the floors were redone. There 3 bathrooms and this laundry room.I'll post the rest when I get to them.
Time to fry the bird.....have a great day everyone.
