Nelson, more nice work there. I agree with you about the rise of the bench being straight down. Most of the time I use granite in the corner seats without the framed in area underneath. Though I agree you are in the corner so not the most comfortable seating. I think most just end up using the seat for shaving or shampoos. I have used quite a few drop down benches though and they fit the bill.

Really nice Greg. I think only a tile guy can appreciate what you had to do in that 6 wall shower! Way to go.
Really like the contrast of those tiles Jon. Bet she loves it, as well she should. Well done!.

Bad fitting mosaic
I love when you get materials that are supposed to fit tight but don't fit at all.

Don't worry guys we all get turned around now and then
Nelson I got it now, I had no idea what you meant. When we do the shower bench all the way across we run it out over the curb and a fixed panel sits there so no slim skin channel to clean out. Curtainly a different story, with no glass. Great idea!
On that bench did you frame it out or?
My first tile register vent, homeowner didn't want the eyesore going back in.
Removable channel.

Fine job, there, Jon.
With almost all of our houses here on the slab, and most of them just single story, I'll probably never get a chance to do something like that.
Aw well, I can look at you all's work and
Yes, the bench was framed in with 2x's and covered with cbu. That actually was my helper's idea to slope the side underneath. Gave him a few extra points for that one! Then I sloped the clipped corner to finish it off. I was pleased also.

Those are great Jon. I installed 9 of them last year. People love them, the extra cost has been a non issue so far.
One of them was a 30" cold air return. Turned out great. Was a bit aggravating cutting slivers of slate though. Lots of breaks. Porcelain was much easier.
On an upcoming project we may have to put one in a tub surround wall (seriously)
Theres no way of fitting a fan in the ceiling, nevermind ducting it. The GC wants to have a chameleon vent in the top of the tub surround wall drawn to the fan in a drop in the next room over.
Im not sure it will flow as much air as it should, but definately more air than no fan.
