Looks good Jim, is that granite honed? Hard to tell from the photos.

Looks awesome Josh!

It is "polished" according to the manufacturer. But they also say that it is impervious to water, which does not seem to be the case, if you wipe it with a damp cloth it darkens instantly. It has taken over two weeks and it has still not dried to its previous color.

Beautiful work Josh!
That is a really nice tile, next time someone wants carrera or calacatta in a wet area I will suggest they consider that as an option.

Almost a candidate for worst tile job thread

Well, this morning I showed up to tile a small powder room for a customer and thought I was going to have to post my own job to the worst tile job thread. When I stopped earlier in the week she told me that She had been given some marble tiles she wanted to use (insisted on). The problem, she was short one tile of having enough to do the job and even then I would not have enough for broken or mis-cuts. She headed to one of our not-so-local suppliers and reported back that she had found a "match" and would have the tiles when I got there. So here is what she had...

Three different tiles, two were 18" marble, 7 of one and three of another, and then a 17" ceramic marble "looking" tile.

She said, "Just put them in there!"

I headed over for supplies, Hardi, and mortar with the tiles to try to pick a grout to match this unbelievable tile floor. You should have seen my supplier's face when I showed her what the lady picked out..."You can't do that..." she said!

Well, after a few minutes of head scratching and her offering me her sample rack so that I could pick something that matched we came up with a solution that, at the end of the day, is not too bad.

(If someone moves it over to the worst tile job thread don't tell me, maybe I'll miss it )

I broke the ceramic into 4 pieces and used them as 8 1/3" pieces. Used up everything she gave me to make this pattern and 11 hours later I'm packing up and headed home, Longggg Friday!

Jim, the worst tile thread should be called the worst tile installation thread. Yours doesn't qualify.

Hopefully you were able to charge for your extra design work but I know a lot of times that's wishful thinking.
