Then he must feel really safe and content.
He sleeps more than wife, which I didn't think was possible.

Dog at the Beach

We really enjoyed watching various dogs enjoying freedom on the beach. Leash laws may change in the county and require dogs to be on leash at all times. This one dog was having so much fun working with his person and chasing gulls. He would run full out for almost 100 yards in one direction following a gull, then change direction and go the other way. He never seemed to tire out. He was very attentive to his person though.

We've had Bonnie (was Cookie) for almost 2 weeks now. She wanted to dominate Annabelle right away and Annabelle is very passive. On the second day they got into a nasty scrap and Annabelle spent a couple of days hiding in Stan's room to keep away from the new pup.

The last 3 or 4 day's the've been developing a relationship and seem to be becoming friends. I had a ball watching them play in the back yard this morning. They've torn all the landscape fabric from under our garden mulch and were playing tug of war with it.

Yeah, you have to let them sort all that stuff out for themselves. It's great that they are buddies though. Pretty doggies.

We've been sitting for our "grand-dog," Riley while Megan, Drew, and Jeremy have been visiting extended family in Wisconsin & Michigan for the past two weeks. Riley thinks it's great when he comes to visit and gets to play with Sam, Bailey, and Toby (the cat). Of course they all think they should have a dog bone at least once a day. Frances took these of the great expectation and then Bailey getting the first bone. Is that concentration or what?

When I got up this morning Tippy's belly was just gurgling and churning. You could hear it across the room. I didn't get really concerned until she didn't want to take her cookie. She finally did but then I found her carrying it around and not eating it.

This is a dog who is a bottomless pit. She drools over martinis and once ate several ounces of Manchego cheese, to the tune of $16/#. Please don't get the impression that she is a foodie, she will eat pretty much anything except, black olives, lettuce and she hates sambuca. Now I was really concerned at this point and started to rush her to the vet but decided to just take a wait and see approach until afternoon.

She seems fine this afternoon and then I found out. Yes, Momma always finds out doesn't she? I found the cat food container, which is stored on the back porch, on it's side and almost empty. I don't think there was much in there to start with but I'd lay money on that being the culprit of Tippy's tummy ache.

Mr. Taylor, if I could stop giggling I would reprimand your insensitive behavior.

Neesie, Shaka is doing great, thanks for asking. She is loving pool season...Black Labbies and water.

Dave, Tina is one lucky pup. We were out to dinner Sunday at a restaurant alongside a golf course. Halfway through the entree a large bobcat wandered across the fairway. The largest one we've seen out here. He was a beauty.

Tina was lucky to get away. Bobcats can be a nasty thing for a small/med doggie.

I'm going to take Molly to the vet Friday but I thought I'd poll y'all and see if anyone had any ideas as to what her problem is. (No jokes about her mental capacity please.) She is losing her fur in spots. A crusty/scabby bit forms and when the scab comes off her fur comes with it. Some of the spots are only a couple of mm but some are larger. She has a big one on her neck now. I would consider hypo-thyroid but y'all know what a sleek, thin thing she is. No weight gain here. Any ideas?

That pic was just used to show that she wasn't overweight Ray. If I can get her still I try to take a pic of the patches.

Took her to the vet Friday AM. No fungus and definitely not mange. As a humane society volunteer I've seen plenty of that. Vet says bacterial. Makes sense. She has had bacterial junk around her lips a couple of times in the past.

She's on oral antibiotis and anti-bac/anti-fungal shampoo. That has to stay on for 10-15 minutes. Not for for the Mommas-Mommas but we managed. She showers with me and voluntarily gets in the tub. I just wet her down, soaped her up, turned off the water, and sat on the tub floor with her. Basically she got ten minutes of rubbing, massage and sweet talking.
