Post a picture... Any picture

These are the instructions that Dave sent me in Feb of 03 and I have keep the email. It is real easy. The problem is remembering from time to time. I can't and had to save.
Program you want to use to resize the photo for placement on the JB forum.
Most computers with Windows XP will download from the camera in a My Pictures file.
Chose the picture from the My Pictures file and give it a new name and save it with the new name. You will now see that this picture is in the file with two different names.
Double click on the picture you just renamed.
Useing the mouse select a box around the most important part of the picture.
Cropping out extra stuff is a great way to reduce the size of the pic.
Go to "Edit" (tool Bar) and choose "Crop Selection". Now reduce the size of the remaining picture. "Image", "Resizing/Resample". In the set new size box, set the larger of the two dimensions to around 400. Now do a "File", "Save as"and enter a new name (always keep the larger original) Before clicking the "Save" button, click the options button and reduce the "size quality" to some value like 70% and click "ok" Then save the file. Use file manager to check the size. If it's still too big, go back in Infanview and use "save as" again tnd reduce the save quality again. Keep doing this until you get the file size you want.

Arent computers fuuunnn What drives me nutz is when i spend
a week figerrin somethin out and i still doit wrong. a freind or family
member will come over and whip out what i was attempting in 20-30
seconds. Too much to learn. Ive spent quite a bit of time learning
this thing called the computer and its never enough. ive figured out
what i like to do and keep to that pictures are pretty simple, just make
sure you remember how ya did it last time! that is once you
get it right the first time lol

Dave, isn't that just about the way it goes too! You're probably underestimating your own photos because you took them yourself.

Randy, Yeah, I have too much FREE TIME! And if I could stand up straight and stretch out my arms again I'd show ya how much! (Ugh, where's my spine?!?) Actually, I'm off work right now so I do have a lot of time. Some day I'll actually get all the photos organized too and put them on a site. Anybody wanna help?

I just happened to set the tiles in that sunlit spot, and on my next trip into the room took a double take and wahlah! There's other's of that stack of tiles of course.

Macro photos are great and they don't really take a lot of talent to do. It's mostly about a low aperture and a slow speed and of course a stable surface. But I also like weird stuff, and things that have hard angles. I have a friend who likes photography too and he's always ragging on me about my 'view' of things. I haven't had as much success with landscape photos though; they're not bad but not always great either.

Ansel Adams has a photo of a graveyard with the sun going down, that i can stare at for hours,and i read that he was driving down a road..saw the graveyard...and told his son..stop the car we gotta hurry..and ran up the hill, and as soon as he got set up, snapped the pic, and two seconds later the sun dropped and the shot would have been lost. He spent days in the darkroom getting it right..and it's magnificent...........BUT MY WIFE AIN"T ANSEL ADAMS,and there's no good reason for her to have gotten that picture! But i'm not bitter!Where i grew up in Illinois,on a farm, there's a graveyard down the road where some graves are from the 1800s, and many graves have picures of the deceased from the 20s,and 30s,they're fascinating,i would love to have the ability to turn them into a haunting montague, of some sort.Kind of rambled there didn't i? Now that i got the digi, i'm going to take some pics myself..photography is a passion,but the digi has eclipsed me,and i'll have to catch up.

Heres some 18" Travertine for ya to look across. Was taken at eye level
with the camera butt up against a raw edge. Im not much of a photographer
although id like to get better i do know how click the button

Jack, i got a roll around tool box looks alot like that one your radio's on.I keep alot of Misc items in it.
Extra grinder and saw blades,wax rings,Teflon tape,Solder,flux,Lubricants,Caution tape ,painters,duct,Durock tape,Packs of Blades for utility knives and scrapers,screws,nails,toilet bolt sets, butterfly toggles, Disposable gloves, dust masks, anchors etc etc

What ya got in yours??

Yeah, that tells a story,jd77...ya screwed up the stair treads. Bill,that pic says....i'm up too early...Jack,you need counseling...you know you're kids behind you are just gonna have to try that. I had one that went to the emergency room twice with legos in the throat,and one with a bean up his nose....i myself almost choked to death in a potato swallowing contest with my cousin.

Ohh my son already tried it, commandeerd the digi camera and hired his
younger bro to snap the shot, i didnt find the photo until i was going
through the old camera, its got over 200 pics on the chip. when i found it
i about fell out of my chair laughing.
