Amazing how that little extra bit..like the tile all the way around the range hood.. makes a huge difference in the whole pic...Really nice turn around.

Enjoying seeing all this nice work. This was a project we did back in March. The original install was random quartzite over masonry cement over a poorly installed roofing membrane. The plywood subfloor was at least sloped to drains but weepholes were majorly clogged. No wire reinforcing, plenty of cracks, and by the way it was leaking into the finished garage below. Ripped everything out, repaired existing membrane, installed new mortar bed (with reinforcing) then Hydroban. Yes it does hold water! We made sure we did a flood test that the owner witnessed. Then we installed some random quartzite that comes on a mesh that interlocks. Each pc covers about 2.7 sqft. Fairly easy to set but a pain to grout. The first picture shows the original install.

Homza Love the extra care on the stairs.."Bending every cut" on the treads is over the top..but prolly the only way to make it look that sharp. Really cool look.

Wow. Just noticed the bends on the stairs. Very nice. How long did those stairs take?

yeah nice stairs but need to have a black schulter trim in there to show your eye its a step. or it blends in.
as far as the lash sytem so far its fiar. have another floor in same house to do its 42 sq ft 12x12 so it will be easier than the first bathroom. i have used both systems. the lash is more readily available on short notice no ordering. so we will see tommrow.

Homza- I used that Dal-tile stuff a few years ago, cool stuff. But they were covered in saw slop, so we scrubbed all the backs a day before setting. And it did sure eat up the grout, as you said.
And I didn't bend the stairs, because I guess I'm a lazy, amateur, hack. Sometimes.
Pictures here- http://www.teakwoodbuilders.com/proj...ash/index.html
Stairs in last picture in filmstrip.

rack o vino
Gueuze, nice job, looks good in that setting, the floor. Did they give you a bottle of vino for your efforts, looks like they have quite the collection. Hard to do tile seeing all that around
