Vacuum suggestion

Anybody have suggestions on where to start looking for bulk vacuum hose, sold by the foot? I'm hoping for something a little better quality, maybe with a smooth inside or a slightly larger diameter. Perhaps something like this heavier hose from Oneida.
Craig, have you tried testing your Dust Deputy for suction loss, by comparing with & without it hooked up? I'm thinking of buying one, really curious how much suction it bleeds off.

visit your local boater's supply house like West Marine (the Seattle area has two). They have buco' hose types and sizes for every boater's need..... and boaters need lottsa' different hoses.

You may find just the ticket.... with stainless clamps to boot.

Tom, I am sure that there is a small drop in water column but the overall real world benefits of the thing more than make up for any. I purchased the DIY kit for under $40 and mounted it to an old wet dry.

I just bought a dust deputy, it is worth it! I bought the deluxe kit and couldn't be happier. It collects at least 90% of the concrete dust before it ever reaches your vacuum and filters. Because of dust blinding the filter your vacuum would be suffering from suction loss after 30 seconds or less without the dust deputy. (unless you have a self cleaning one)

I noticed little suction loss using a 50' 2 inch hose.

Hank, I used the dust grabber again on Friday. The only way I was able to keep it from spitting dust was to slightly wet the thin-set first, let it soak in, then grind it. There was still a little dust escaping. I'm not all that impressed. With the vacu-guard I've never used water, it just works.

I do think it will work very well for just removing paint and surfacing the concrete. I haven't used it for anything but grinding thin-set.

My 20 footer came with a blastrac vacuum I had. (I kept it after selling the vac)

My 50 I bought from a carpet cleaner. It is like This one.

I found this one, pretty inexpensive for the size. I also like the smooth outside so you won't bang up cabinets, mouldings and so on.

If you buy a 50 footer you can buy extra cuffs and cut it up to make multiple hoses out of one. Cheaper that way then buying home depot's really crappy and short hoses.
