New Page Layout!
What do you think of the new advertisment placement on the left side of the page?

It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't duplicates of the other side. It looks like we are selling stuff too hard.
I voted 'No Opinion" because we are used to how it used to be. Not sure if its gonna make a difference to new customers.

I voted "I don't like it".
I have several reasons. First, I use my iPad almost exclusively to read the forum. With the new layout, 30% of my "useable" screen horizontally is taken up by ads. It looks cluttered and is very annoying to my eye. It also makes me change how my hands are used by making me reach much further in to click on the threads I like.
Second, I think that you have sacrificed the integrity of the site by making it look more like an advertising site that happens to have some threads about tile.
Last, when I made the decision to advertise on this site 8 or 9 years ago, it as a clean, easy to navigate site. I wouldn't advertise now because it looks so cluttered I feel like my ad would get lost in the shuffle.
Clearly it is a business and ad revenue is important. I truly hope it goes well.

Like Mark, I think it looks "cluttered" and actually somewhat unfriendly with ads striking out from both sides of the page. Besides,,,,, look what it did to Paul's Cabot and Rowe.

I find it overly distracting. I actually have adblock turned on for the site because the adds take up both sides of the screen.
I would prefer them to be at the bottom or top of the screen for a mobile device.

I already voiced my opinion when it happened to the mods.
makes less text area, smaller pictures and sometimes ads a scroll bar at the bottom for me on picture pages.
I know the ads pay the forum,
but why not make them smaller or across the top ?

This web site has become one of the slower opening and responding sites I visit..... and I attribute that in a large part to site and Google ads.
