I've done metal roofs almost exclusively in new construction down here, Gregg.
They are somewhat "traditional" in this area, but if they weren't I'd still favor them.
The ones shown in Brian's pichers is of the standing seam variety, but that is one of the more expensive possibilities. We do a lot of Tennesse Vee, sometimes called Five V, or just Vee Crimp. Installed with screws and neoprene washers, it's well within DIY capabilities. Requires some attention to detail, but makes a nice roof.
Don't be sold on the price of any of the 29ga. versions of any of the available styles. Insist on 25 or 26 gauge, whichever is available in the chosen style.
But if you can find a good standing seam installer within your budget, that's the better product.
My opinion; worth price charged.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that down here the idiot builders and designers alla time wanna pewt the roof alla way up on top of the buildings, and to point'em up inna air at great angles like some of them in Brian's pichers. Gotta have ladders and sometimes ropes and what all else to work on'em. Great PITA, that.
Best to see if you can't pewt yours onna ground and leave'em flat. Lots easier to work on. Safer, too.
