Considering the abuse a floor goes through - adding grout on top of cured grout is not a wise choice. The grout needs at least 1/8th" to hold otherwise you will see areas flake out. It needs a minimum depth to be able to set to a strength that will withstand floor abuse.
I've even tried it on a shower wall - flaked out in spots over time from normal wear an tear. If you can, scrape out a bit of grout before it hardens with a grout removal tool - regrout on top but wait longer before wiping clean to give it time to setup in the joints and use next to NO water on your sponge. That should do the trick.
It sure is a PITA to be a perfectionist - I feel your pain. The good news...lol nobody notices the things that keep us up at night but us - like that 1/16th of grout that is driving you up the wall.
