Well, not sure how long their website was off-line, but it's up.
I'd like to get a close look at their profile line. It might also be interesting to get a feel for their SureBond Unsanded Thin-Set Mortar which they say can be used for glass tile (it's not a modified). Might be useful over a membrane (like Kerdi) where normally, you'd have issues with glass tile and a latex modified thinset. http://www.custombuildingproducts.com/TDS/TDS-195.pdf

I was not even aware Custom Building Products had that product, Jim. I recall back when DitraSet came out there was talk of Schluter sponsoring an unmodified, unsanded thinset mortar specifically for installing Kerdi (KerdiSet?), but it never came to fruition. Some of our regulars back then had used unsanded mortars and seemed to think it a great idea.
I always thought it would be just the thing for installing sheet membranes, but have never had the opportunity to try any. Perhaps we'll all get a look this trip.

I would love to hear more about elastomeric membrane (Redgard) installation in residential steam showers and the requirements. Last I heard the perm rating of Redgard is 0.36, which is more than adequate for residential steam showers without a vapor barrier behind the backer. Still haven't done it, but it would be nice to have a liquid to do them with.

And what needs to be done to actually install polyblend without efflorescence. Hell, I'd fly there just to find that out.

Received missives from Steve Taylor and Will White today. They are watching this thread and adjusting agenda to accommodate your requests.
We are five weeks out and counting. Those of you on the fence about attending need to decide quick. Only a couple slots left.

Couple more slots open now. Marge says she's had a couple drop-outs, but that's not likely to last.

This Dustin Gross from the geeks. Are there any open spots for this training. If so, I would like to attend.

We're getting close to the event, and, as usual, I'm getting excited. We've been co-sponsoring these things since 2007, but still each one turns out to be unique. The Custom event will be that way -- I can feel it.
There are still spaces available, but Marge will need to begin finalizing soon, so let's not wait till the last minute, folks.
Attention Lurkers: We don't know your names, but we know you're here. I want to personally invite you to join us in the upcoming event. Don't be shy. I guaranty that you'll have a great time socially while you're picking up as much knowledge as can be packed into short period of time. The folks at Custom are wonderful hosts, and their training and technical staff are second to none.
Hope to see and meet you there.

Neat, I've taken the tour, but never been into the hotel areas. This was a long time ago when the 'Spruce Goose' was also there at the dock area.

Jim, if I remember correctly, I think there is a submarine next door to the QM now.

Spruce Goose is gone. German submarine is there.
I'd rather have seen the Spruce Goose.

Yeah, I knew they moved the plane, probably at least 3-4 years ago now (up in Oregon?), but it was probably at least 10-15 years since I was there last.

I have emailed or PM'd everyone on the Attendee list to confirm travel plans. Please let me know by Friday your intention to attend (or not) and your travel/flight details.
If you think you are on the list and did not get an email or PM from me yesterday, or this morning, please let me know ASAP.
