I was thinking the same.. There is a shared bath for 2 guest rooms upstairs. I was thinking that it would not be used much if any, so a good place to start. I have 2 other baths for the kids that I could do next, then the master last.

Should I avoid the Home Depot/Lowes tiles and look at the supply houses instead?

Would some of the membrane solutions be my best option? I will have to stick to the 3-piece PVC drain I have in the guest bath upstairs, the others I have access from below without ripping out sheetrock to replace the drain.

I ended up hiring it out to a local contractor. It came down to whether or not I had time to do it or not. We just installed 5500 sq ft of wide plank flooring and about 3000 sq ft of that required face nailing as well.

The tile job isn't done yet, we are waiting on the last floor tiles for 2 upstairs bathrooms to come in, we had to order more and it was out of stock at the time.

I will upload some pics once it is done, along with some of the in progress pics.
