Looking for an A+ pro in Chicago

Currently, remodeling bathroom with a large curbless shower. We are trying to capture the true 1920's vintage tile look (subway walls, marble mosaic floor) and need a pro that can deliver.

Bathroom is framed and plumber starts next week.

Anyone have a referral? Any members looking for a job?

Project is downtown with free parking 10ft from the back door.

Thanks for your help!

I wish you the best, Samantha. I really do. I'd like everyone to get the remodeling job they're dreaming of. I just hope you don't accidentally have the horse in front of the cart.

Tonto Goldstein... but my friends call me Bubba

Help an awesome summer camp!

Yeah, late in the game to find someone to do the tile. I had a contractor that had some personal problems and unfortunately can't finish the job. He did complete the framing and get us to the point where we are ready for the plumber who has quite a bit of work to do moving the shower drain and toilet in the concrete slab (1922 mid-rise apartment building) as well as running all new copper for the fixtures, rain shower, wall shower and hand held. The plumber is excellent and we've used him on other projects.

A designer coordinated the bathroom and most everything is on site.

Right now just need someone really good to step in and handle the rest. Everyone on this forum seems so knowledgeable and great, I'm hoping some of you guys are local.

Hi Samantha, I sometimes do work down in that area as my Dad lives in Palatine. Unfortunately I'm booked up into June up where I'm at I don't think you would want to wait that long. There are some pros on here in that area that might respond here.

Thanks Mike. You are right, can't wait until June. I appreciate the reply though. Maybe we can throw swim baits sometime. Catching a big Musky is high on my bucket list!

Update: somehow this bathroom is still a work in progress, to no fault of the tile installer. There were lots of complication with old plumbing and everything else, none of which were easy to resolve. Anyway, Schluter board is up, and we are prepped for tile, which is onsite. End is near.

I hired, Chris (Set in Stone Tile) from this post and he's been awesome. This is going to be an insane tile job and we will be sure to post finished pics. So glad I found Chris here!

That's good to know, Samantha. I'm always very leery of pros who only register and post on our site to solicit business. Good to know it sometimes works out well.
