Patti Has Left Us

Some of you were aware that my wife Patti had been fighting cancer since early this year. She had recently been hospitalized for a seven-week period. She left us early Tuesday morning after a heroic battle against that disease. There was just too much cancer and too many complications. We would no sooner deal with one issue than another would appear. Amazingly, she was not in pain.

It was Patti's wish and mine that her ordeal not be publicized. I do it now because I want her to be remembered. We were not only husband and wife, we were dear friends who shared almost everything. We were seldom apart.

Patti and I laughed a lot, and that's what I will remember best, and that's what I want everyone to think about. I will mourn and miss her deeply, but I will smile sometimes too.

The last thing either of us wanted was an outpouring of sympathy, and I don't want it now. If you post here I hope you'll smile a little as you do so. Above all, we were happy.

Patricia Bedient Bridge will be interred at the National Cemetery here in Houston where one day I will join her.

Hi John,

I gotta say I am very surprised by the news.
I know you don't want an out pouring of sympathy but I will still offer mine towards you and your family.

I am glad I had the pleasure of meeting her and you @ Schluterville last October. We didn't have the chance to talk in depth but I could tell both she and you are a very kind and gentle soul.

I remember the smile she always had, very happy and content - a rarity these days

She will be missed

John, my deepest sympathies to you and yours. Nancy and I will mourn, miss, and smile right along with you.

I could say so much more, but will respect your, and Patti's wishes.

We'll miss you Patti, we love you.
