I'm missing something. Any sheet good will warp if you don't store it horizontally or vertically. But if you take care not to store it improperly how would it warp? What John K was talking about a few posts back, how would it warp in that situation? After it's on the wall?

I guess I don't understand how drywall can be a suitable substrate for Kerdi after it's hung on the wall but not before. Not that there would be any reason to fab it up beforehand, just in theory.

Otherwise your tiled sheetrock panel might curl.

Otherwise your tiled sheetrock panel might WILL curl.

I've had the unfortunate experience of repairing one that I left leaning in it's final position to dry. Have used Hardie from then on.

What usually causes warping in sheetrock is moisture, to include usual humidity. When you install Kerdi, you are wetting one side of the board. Unless you weight it or otherwise hold it straight somehow, it WILL warp, as Brian put it.

But this thread isn't really about sheetrock. We already know it works well for Kerdi showers. I do them that way all the time. What we're doing here is taking it a step further.

Easy to cut with a knife. Flat and strong. Waterproof.

Translation available upon request. I used a friend in Germany's address figuring they might not ship the sportbrille heir....umm, I mean here. The sunglasses, that is.

Also, as I'm not too far from Plattsburg, perhaps I could be used as a gineau pig , crash test dummy , offical demo installer.

Last time I spoke to Rick Citro, our Schluter rep, he was trying to get me to go to South Carolina. Plattsburg is less than 3 hours from here.

Just sayin' .......

Sorry, Brian. As a Massa/Ferrari fan, you are not worthy.

As a McLaren/Mercedes fan, Ich bin.

I'd hate to ruin my chances by flooding the ballot box with JB forum entries.

Besides as a famous Formula One driver titled his book, "Ohne kamph, kein sieg."

Without struggle, no victory.

Dave Gobis might have hinted on this in the beginning of the year.
