RESPECT.

That’s what I have for you guys who remodel mud floors and tear out mud walls. Got a hand it to you, it’s a lot of work. 90 ft.², two closets, about four hours of banging and chickenwire fun.

Now that I’m down to my diagonal floorboards I have the mud Master special. Cupped, bowed, 5/8”, and 3/4-inch thick boards cut and spliced anywhere they want to be. I guess the original contractor in 1920 laughed when he put those floorboards in and said “ain’t nobody going to put plywood over this floor in the future, Ha ha hah“

Fun career isn’t it?

Good call Kevin , you did the right thing and now they get an updated tile job... which in the end, is what they really wanted.

Besides cupped, warped, different thicknesses, add to that - split, tinder dry, delaminating, 1/2 to 1 inch gap’s between. I guess it’s better than floors made out of hand smoothed logs.

Yeah, I knew it was the right thing to do, I was just looking for the other easier right thing to do if it was out there. Apparently magic still not available in 2019
