my 18 year old boy has joined the NZ Army

half way through Bootcamp he is home for the weekend....thats him on the left pointing his rifle at the other guy, hopefully they arnt loaded

They got to go home halfway through boot camp? Wow. Never heard of that before.

this is the company doing the NZ Army Haka, a Haka is a maori war dance that they did before going into battle...they used the Haka to intimidate their enemy then would proceed to beat them to death with stone clubs, survivors were taken as slaves and some were eaten, we dont do that so much now......http://youtu.be/Ec_JkBhM4oY

Jim, one observation and a question:

The boy is either very tall or his father is very short.

The NZ Army Haka is impressive. Do they also teach them how to fire weapons?

Congratulations on your sons success in boot camp! I'm a veteran myself and have a step nephew in Afghanistan. He is a EOD Specialist in the USMC; 3rd tour. Great marine and we're all praying for his and his groups safe return. Semper Fi!
