Source for vintage tile?

Never had to do this before, so I know nothing about obsolete tile.

I have a request to restore a 50s bathroom that has the very common light blue 4-1/4" wall tile. I've seen (and torn out) zillions of these tiles, but I've never had to procure any. Is there a source for old (or new) tiles that match? I only need about a half dozen. Thanks for any leads.

DalTile and Florida Tile both make the entire rainbow of colors in 4x4.

If you are trying to "match" a old tile that is nearly impossible, however I'm told that World of Tile in New Jersey www.worldoftile.us/ has a massive stockpile of old tile and that they can sort through their inventory to find what you might be looking for.

Doug, if you'll enter vintage into the Advanced Search feature and ask for Titles you'll see similar threads. Do the same for discontinued.

Look then at the sticky thread in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum and maybe look through that forum a bit.

Bottom line: You ain't likely to find your tile, but don't cost nothin' to look.

Thanks Hammy, I appreciate that.

CX, I did read the sticky and done a search, no luck that route. I did find one on the auction site, looks like a possibility but hard to tell from the picture.

I ordered one to see if it's a match.

B & W tile in CA. Their website isn't up to speed, doesn't show the colors, but they make the old pinks and blues. And all the old mud trim too.

You can do a color match through Dal or AO but it would be spendy for such a small amount.

I've seen the old blue and pink tiles at the local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. If you have any near you it might be worth a try.
