DUROCK Shower System

Juan

We do have a adhesive with our system but that other one works also you just lose our warranty. You can install our membrane with thinset so you don't need the adhesive for that. CX gave you the right info on our thickness question but another important issue is the perm rating, and ours is the current lowest in the industry so it is more than qualified for the new steam shower requirements.

One other point, our entire system is fire code tested and rated, PASS, and plumbing code tested and rated, PASS, by IAPMO Both of those testings are extremely difficult to obtain and not many others have them on their products.

I guess passin' that far code test is important for all them Yankees who builds fars in their showers, Steve, but down here we hardly ever do that.

I don't see that adhesive pookey listed anywhere in your Product Catalog. I'm missing some really, really, really fine print this time?

Durock Shower System

CX

The adhesive is for the foam board which will be available in the next month or so. At that time we'll reprint the literature to include the adhesive plus adhesive. Our new board will not require special fasteners, just use DUROCK standard screws.

As for the fire ratings, at the last round of building code hearings the fire authorities went way overboard and made ANY and EVERYTHING made with foam required to pass fire testing. Stupid I know, but that's our code system. Anyway, USG tried to get backer boards exempt but nobody else sided with us and the fire folks won so now anything and everything made from foam must be fire tested and pass.

Oh yes I see.

So it's very likely to see this in a box store.

This little beauty arrived today.

Looking forward to installing it to compare the drains, fabric, and overall product

I have given 6 estimates since Sunday, so we may be using this quite soon.

Brandon already has them in stock. Call your local rep or Dick Bickel.

Watched the little video. Says you have to wait 24 hrs before you can flood test...that's a bummer.

Hi Jason,

I'm just wondering, other than a traditional shower pan, what other material would allow you to flood test sooner?

Couldn't a person possibly use fast set and then flood test in let's say 3 hrs if a person is in that big a rush? Just a random thought.

With the Laticrete Preformed Shower System you can test in 2 to 4 Hours.

I still say waiting 24 hours is good.
