John, tell your better half that Wiley and I are cheering her on! That's awesome.

Eric, very happy for you! Wiley and I stopped smoking 20 years ago. One of the best things we have ever done.

For anyone still following, I've past he 6 month mark now. The e-cig / PVs are still working for me. I feel better than I have in many years.

Looks like you have given yourself the best Christmas present you could receive.

Now stay away from Wal-Mart this coming Friday, it would be a shame for you to get trampled to death now.

That's great, Eric.

When do you start weanin' yourownself from those trainin' wheel thingees? Is there a program sorta that tells you, or that entirely up to your own desires?

I think it's great that you are kickin' the nicotine habit no matter how you're doin' it, Eric.

I'm just curious about that program you're usin'. Curious to know if it is a program, or if it's just a substitute and you do with it what you will. Mostly I'd like to be able to speak intelligently about it to someone else who might be lookin' for help in kickin' the habit, too.

I'm a cold turkey kinda guy, but I know that doesn't work for everyone and I'll recommend anything that might help anyone get off that wretched drug. If what you got's workin', I'd like to know more about it.

And you know there are lots and lots of lurkers out there who are watchin' this thread. Yep, and they ain't gonna say nothin', but they might be takin' notes.

I know you posted a link to a forum early on, but ain't everybody gonna read that, methinks.

I was at the mall earlier today and they were selling an electronic cigarette. The guy was smoking it in the mall and some lady got mad at him (the salesman in the kiosk).

I asked him about it and he said it was $100.00

Looked pretty interesting. I wanted to try it. Looked like it might be fun with a couple of Gin and tonics

I asked him about specifics but I couldn't understand much of what he was saying because he was French.

He did say something about different flavors and Menthol....................and different brands that you could buy like American, English ect.to give you the flavor of the type of smoke you like.

Amazing journey Eric. I know, I quit 3 packs of Reds a day for 20 years. Been 9 years now. After 2 weeks, the morning hack fits were gone, and from there, it it just got better. After a month ,youve pretty much kicked the nicotine, the rest is just mental. I used to play a little mind game with myself. I would tell myself, I dont smoke, I never have smoked, and never intend on starting. After about 6 months, the thought of a cig never even entered my mind. Keep it up man.

There's no plan CX, you're on your own other than the forums and local groups.

$100 is a very high price to pay for a standard unit - we sell starter kits in our store for $55 and they can be had mail order for a lot less. If anyone wants a good mail source for a starter kit, check out litecigusa.net . He's one of the best.

The forum link again is http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com

There's a wealth of knowledge there for beginners and experienced users.

I've got a terrible confession to make. After 11 years, I started smoking again. Why is not important, but am ready to quit again. The last time I quit, I did it cold turkey, but this time around I'm not sure I can because I've tried and have not been successful.
My son has been using the electronic cigarette and has cut way down on his smoking. I'm ready to do the same as I know how damaging smoking can be (as in my husband's situation) and am tired of smelling like a cigarette.
Thanks for the link, Eric

Still using my training wheels, but after 8 months it's still working. Not a single regular cigarette since May 18th.

Eric, That's great !!! keep it up.

Kate, I quit 3+ years ago - smoked and chewed for 21 years (on & off).

Most physical habits are formed within 30 days so if you can get to that the rest is mental.

I used to have a dry erase board on the fridge with a list of the 10 best and worst things about smoking - used it as a motivator - looked at it every morning as a visual reminder - also had a pack of cigs sitting on the counter with one taken out and broken and thrown away every week to remind me not to smoke - I went cold turkey.

Bottom line is you have to want to stop smoking. Find the positives and strive toward that.

Good luck

Good on you some more, Eric.

How 'bout you start talkin' to our friend Jeffy (silvercitytile). He's young enough to benefit even more from kicking that filthy habit and he's teetering on the brink. See can't you kick him off the edge, eh? My foot's tard.
