Need polished slate sealer advice

I've installed polished copper slate on a kitchen countertop and have tried to seal it with a couple of different (aqua-mix and tilelab) penetrating sealers applied numerous time according to instructions. Water still soaks into the slate and I'm concerned about staining. What is the best sealer to use and where to buy? Would a topical sealer be better? Thanks.

Yeah, slate is an iffy choice for a counter top. I've never seen polished slate, myself, didn't know it could be polished. So i won't be much help, maybe others can.
